Day 5
- Bob's Big Boy
I started off the morning with a light breakfast of bacon, sausage links, sausage patties, biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs, western scrambled eggs, hashed browns, grits and coffee at the ONLY Bob's Big Boy in North Carolina.
By lunch time, I was feeling a bit queasy.truckerbear and Wanda had lunch at the Grizzly Grill in Maggie Valley, I stayed in the car and took a nap.
- The Grizzly Grill
Now, I should mention that when we were planning this vacation, truckerbear was entertaining the idea of getting a log cabin. While I was searching the Internet for suggestions, I came across the website for the Grizzly Grill. In any event, this place has a 10 oz. ribeye steak, a 16 oz. ribeye steak and will cut a larger ribeye steak upon request.truckerbear had the 16 oz. This time.
After lunch, I went back to the motel and took a nap.
I do remember going for a ride on the Great Smoky Mountain Railroad to the Nantahala Gorge and I could have sworn that we made the trip from Maggie Valley. However, I was mistaken. I had also talked up this train ride as an absolute must-see attraction - and, it is. (But, maybe, I might have been also secretly hoping we could do something where I didn't have to walk.)
- Great Smoky Mountain Railroad
In any case, we didn't go. The train leaves from Dillsboro and Bryson City.
- Snappy's Italian Restaurant
For dinner, we ended up going to this place.truckerbear had a HUGE plate of spaghetti, I had a sausage sandwich. I'm pretty sure Wanda had the chicken.
The chef was serving some experimental cinnamon rolls to some friends of his.truckerbearasked if he could order some, too. They were good!
