I'm seeing an interesting "feature" in IE 7.0, and I was wondering if other folks are seeing it as well.

My LJ page has a header graphic with a nighttime rural scene and the entire image doesn't always appear. I get the top half, but don't always get the bottom half. Everything below the tagline "All Your Griz Are Belong To Us" disappears. I can reload the page and the bottom half my appear momentarily, but it quickly disappears.

What up wit' dat?

I seen it when I had a theme like yours, so I changed my theme.

But, I LIKE this theme!

It sort of suits me in my present location. I didn't see the problem with IE 6.0.

I understand your stance, but I change themes as if it was underwear, about every other weak that is. I have notice other things about IE7 that is tricky, but I have noticed a lot of pages don't load correctly. In Vista, microsoft is trying to work with a new TCP/IP thingy, I wonder if that is the problem.

I know you do. Change themes, I mean. Drives me nuts at times, but don't stop on my account.

Can't be a Vista-TCP/IP stack thing as I'm still using XP Pro.

My guess is a "feature" in the MS graphic rendering engine. (Or, whatever the term is.)

I noticed that as well as a few other little things that ticked me off. So i shifted to firefox. I still will use IE for a few things but have mostly switched over.

I got a problem with using Firefox.

The machines I have at work have Outlook/MSIE on them, as well as Firefox/Thunderbird.

Firefox/Thunderbird have their own set of quirks and I can see no benefit for exchanging one set of "features" for another.

I'm seeing the same problem too in IE7. When I first loaded up your page, the entire top part of the page is visible, but if I scroll down to read the comments, then back up again the bottom half of the graphic disappears...weird.

And, you're using...

...what? MSIE 7.0? Or, something different.

I'd complain to MS and LJ, if I knew exactly where to go.

Looks like a bug in the screen rendering engine. The header image is a .png, maybe IE still can't handle them properly?

You haven't been reading the propaganda.

That isn't a "bug", that's a "feature"! And, how *DARE* those graphics program creators create .png files that don't correspond to Microsoft specs!

(wink)
Pretty much what I was thinking. Thanks!
