I'll find a musical selection that just "clicks" with me and I have to listen to it over and over and over again. Meanwhile, my friends are just shaking their heads, trying to figure out just what sort of cacophony I'm listening to.
On the flip side, there are other times they want me to listen to something that really "pops their cork" and I am non-plussed.
There are, also, a few here on LJ that have such expansive and esoteric musical tastes that I feel like a "n00b" even bringing up my musical discoveries. (sigh) I figure they know all about the bands I think are "new" and have moved on to even more interesting (and strange) stuff.
Well, so be it. Here's what I'm listening to these days.
Birdy Nam Nam - Four DJs from France work do some serious "scratching" creating what sounds like an interesting bit of electronica. (These white boys get DOWN!) Recommended selection: Abbesses (Live)
Andy McKee - A rather innovative acoustical guitarist. His techniques defy description. Recommended selection: Drifting
