Date: 2008-02-18 04:48 pm (UTC)Just about my entire adult life, I've been considered "exempt" for salary purposes. I've forgetten what the twisted reasoning is with this job, but, here, too, I'm "exempt".
But, TPTB realize that the job can't be all sticks and no carrots, so if we cover an extra shift, we get paid for it. (Which is a heck of a lot better than being given those "comp days" you never get to take.)
Will it be overtime - as in time-and-a-half? (snort) I don't know. I'm not even gonna break out the calculator and figure it out. Just getting them to put it ON the paycheck is gonna take a few "reminders".

Now, if only I could get to sleep. It's a 7 pm to 7:30 am shift, and I've been up all night and morning.
