Netflix Picks

I just finished Ultraviolet. Basic premise: Folks get a disease, their canines grow, they get stronger and faster, die sooner and are called "vampires" or "hemophages". I don't get it. Where's the vampire angle? Just the longer canines? Bah!
Interesting special effects. Wirework. I think Milla Jovovich is the world's most beautiful woman. I'll be looking for the Resident Evil films in '08. Was there a plot? Oh yeah. Milla versus a bad guy and a bunch of stunt men in helmets and battle armor. She kicks butt. Of course. And, she moves so well. (sigh.) What? You expected something more?
Here's my remaining Netflix queue.
I know you think that all I watch are vampire flicks. Not true. I just had them on the list first. Now that I've finished that series, I continue with Tom Cruise's sci-fi flicks. I'm not into Tom Cruise per se, but I am into sci-fi.
I'm skipping the various incarnations of Mission:Impossible. The show that I loved on TV involved an ensemble cast. It wasn't one "super agent" doing it all. And, there is no freakin' way Jim Phelps ever turned traitor. Nope. Never happened. F@#! you, Tom.
On the television series, the part I liked best was the way Barney Collier could pop into a wiring closet, undo a panel, attach a couple of wires with alligator clips, and re-route the telephone system of Moldovia - or whatever. . (I used to hum the M:I incidental music when I was playing techie and hooking up wires. I am such a geek. sigh. )
After that, the Riddick seies. (The second film is animated.) Then, the Terry Gilliam films. (Hmmm. Maybe I should add "The Life of Brian" and "Monty Python and the Holy Grail".)
Then, we get to BSG, Batman and X-Men. I should be done by Spring '08. Maybe.

Oh, I agree with you - Milla Jovovich is a beautiful woman.

Date: 2007-10-10 12:37 am (UTC)I notice that a lot of my gay friends have insanely large DVD collections. How do you guys find time to watch them all?
(It's hard enough playing catch-up with the movies I get from Netflix.)
