"E" for "Eduardo". Already?
Aug. 4th, 2008 09:17 amAs a former resident of South Florida, I had forgotten how much "fun" Hurricane Season can be. In particular, I'm referring to the local weather forecasters getting on the air every fifteen minutes to let you know the "latest" figures from the National Hurricane Center about some tropical hiccough off the coast of Africa. The fallacy is that the National Hurricane Center generally releases updates every six hours (at 1 o'clock and 7 o'clock), every three hours if the storm is approaching land (1 o'clock, 4 o'clock, 7 o'clock and 10 o'clock). So, the "latest" updates the weather forecasters are trying to peddle haven't been updated in hours. |
