After twelve years and 172,000 miles...
Nov. 18th, 2006 08:29 amI've reached the point where I'm going to have to put a new clutch in my pickup truck. Parts and labor should be $698, not including any flywheel costs. Of course, the "second shoe" in all of this is going to be whether or not I need my flywheel resurfaced or replaced.
Part of me says that with the clutch lasting this long, the flywheel ought to be fine. The other part says that it won't be.
I'm cringing because the few times I've had to get the truck worked on, the mechanic has had an impossible time finding parts, and the bill has generally come to about a kilobuck.
Incidently, I'm still on the original brakes and shocks. 172,000 miles.
UPDATE: (Monday) I took the truck in a week ago. It's not ready.
UPDATE: (Wednesday) I got the truck back. The flywheel only needed to be turned a bit. Perfect! Now, I'm wondering how much life do I have on the brakes?
