THE TRUCK...
...is ready for pick up. The total bill is just over $300.00, and includes a power radiator flush and new coolant.

It was $39.04 parts/$133.50 labor/$172.54 total for the thermostat. And, $46.63 parts/$60.40 labor/$107.03 for the radiator flush. The tow was an additional $80.00.

The whole thing has been rather serendipitous. The truck overheated at a major intersection near the house. I was able to get it parked and shut down before there was any major damage.

Had I driven the back way home, things might have been a bit different.

I'm glad it wasn't as bad as the worst case.

Actually, it was your buddies over at University Ford/Isuzu that found the problem.

With my GM car (160,000 mi), that *lived* in the shop, after adding up all the repair bills over the yrs, if it had been cheaper to buy a new vehicle :(

Let's just hope this is the end of an aberration.
