Jun. 18th, 2007 03:48 pmI thought it was kind of strange that certain Christian groups would be pushing for the recognition of creationism so vehemently. Is that that much of a difference between "Let There Be Light" at the beginning of everything, and a massive explosion at the beginning of everything?
I thought about this for a good number of weeks. It's not the act of creation itself the fundies want to preserve, it's what comes after.
After creation comes the Garden of Eden with Adam, Eve, the "snake" and the "apple". If you do away with Creation, you do away with the Garden of Eden. Do away with the Garden and you do away with "original sin". Do away with "original sin" and you eliminate the irrationale behind the crucifixion of Jesus.
