Question on Tattoos

I seem to have problems with metal. 
I have a pierced ear, but can't wear anything but gold. 
I've had rings and watches, but always get some sort of wet irritation under them.
I had surgery and the surgical stainless staples popped out.

I've read where tattoo pigments are metallic salts.
 
So, am I gonna have an allergy problem with a tattoo?
