My right foot
Oct. 6th, 2006 05:17 pmI screwed up my right Achilles' tendon last Saturday/Sunday, and I've had problems walking all week. I don't remember any obvious trauma, but I think I've tracked down the culprit to a relatively new pair of shoes with a broken down heel. The theory is that the broken down heel presses against the tendon and I really start to feel it about 24-36 hours later.
How'd the heel get broken down? The usual way. Trying to slip shoes on and off without bothering to untie them.
These were a pair of wheat/cream Drifter Lo Lugz and for some strange reason, I had convinced myself the heels were stronger than normal and wouldn't get broken down. I was wrong.
I bought a new pair from the Lugz website, but I'm a bit upset with myself for ruining such a really nice pair of shoes. And, a week into this, my Achilles' tendon is still a bit sore.
