A few years back, I googled my late father's full name and discovered...

...the complete family tree for my mother's side of the family.

It seems that we were here since at least 1750, moved to Canada and then, my branch came back. My maternal grandparents were cousins! Their parents were brother and sister!

(I've tried to reach the webmaster in the past, but have gotten no response. It seems the website is over ten years old.)

I repeated the process a few weeks ago with my mother's maiden name and discovered...

... another listing, this time from my another branch of my mother's family!

More research uncovered that one branch was English; the other Dutch, by way of England. The two families started off in the US, but moved to Canada where they met.

My big sister's granddaughter is going to Panama City for Spring Break. Big sis is afraid granddaughter's money is gonna get lost or stolen. So, what can she do to safeguard her money - other than not leave Des Moines.
